Your iPhone is packed with small features that are easy to miss — even if you’ve been using it for years. These iPhone tricks are built right in, no extra apps required, and once you know them, you’ll wonder how you missed them.

This post is part of my Little iPhone Unknowns series, where I share simple, practical tips you can use right away.

1. The Hidden Undo

If you’ve ever deleted text by mistake, there’s a quiet undo trick most people never discover.

How to use it:

  • Tap three fingers twice on your screen.
  • Undo menu displays at the top of screen.

This works in many apps, including Notes, Messages, Mail, and Safari.

2. Adjust Volume Right on the Screen

You don’t always want to hit the volume button 10 times to adjust the sound.

How to use it:

  • Press the volume up or down button on the side of your iPhone, when the volume bar appears on screen, simply drag the slider with your finger

This gives you more precise control and is especially helpful if your buttons are hard to press.

3. Quickly Delete Duplicate Photos

If your iPhone storage is filling up, duplicate photos may be the reason. Luckily, your iPhone can find them for you.

How to use it:

  1. Open the Photos app
  2. Scroll down to Utilities
  3. Tap on Duplicates
  4. Tap Merge

This is one of the easiest iPhone tricks for freeing up space without manually sorting photos.

4. Track a Flight Right From Your iPhone

Here’s one of my favorite iPhone flight tricks, especially during busy travel seasons.

If you receive a flight number in a text — or copy one from Google — your iPhone can show live flight details instantly.

How to use it:

  • Paste flight number from Google in Messages or Notes
  • Tap the flight number
  • A live preview appears with status, gate info, and timing

No airline app required.

Why These iPhone Tricks Matter

These small features are easy to overlook, but they save time and make everyday use of your iPhone even easier. You don’t need to memorize everything — just knowing these exist can make your iPhone feel smarter and easier to use.
